Cerebrovascular Accident - CVA

What is the CVA Clinical Care Center?

The Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke) Clinical Care Center specializes in caring for stroke (CVA) patients. The International Joint Commission awarded the accreditation to the stroke center in December 2016 and since then it has been recognized as the only JCI certified center in Colombia, providing the highest healthcare service for managing this most relevant condition.

Our Clinical Care Center follows stroke patients throughout their diagnostic and therapeutic journey: from the onset of the cerebrovascular accident, admission to the emergency department, assistance by the emergency physician, the neuroradiologist, or neurosurgeon, to the comprehensive rehabilitation process by the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team.

Benefits of the Center

  • Any patient admitted to the Stroke Care Center of Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá University Hospital will benefit from comprehensive care from the time of admission to the emergency department to hospital discharge and subsequent rehabilitation process.
  • The patient will undergo the best diagnostic and therapeutic process by a group of top specialists and healthcare staff that works as a team rather than individually.
  • The team adapts to the patient’s conditions dynamically and ensuring the best possible care for stroke patients.
